Quote:

·       Write it down exactly

·       Put it in quotation marks

·       Author’s last name & page # in parentheses after the quote

·       Period goes at the very end

·       No punctuation between author's last name and page #

·       If author’s name is in your sentence, don't put it at end

·       Do not start a sentence with quotation marks

·       If quote starts at the beginning of someone's sentence, use a tag followed by a comma & capitalize beginning of quote

·       If your lead–in is a complete sentence, put a colon after it
