Evaluating Sources

You must use credible sources!  The list below should help you to determine whether or not a source is worthy of being used in your paper:

1.  Credentials/reputation of author/publisher

2.  Non–biased writing (= treatment; logic/facts; not opinionated, faith–based or emotional)

3.  Cites other scholars (references; footnotes)

4.  Appears in scholarly journals

5.  Current views!:  Sort by date

6.  Does not contain fallacies

7.  Quality of writing:  If you find numerous errors or the reading level is low, you are looking at a less-credible source.
