Optional Extra Credit Project: Groups of 3 or 4 only!
Bring in
a poem or a song that is connected to Fahrenheit 451 in some way. This connection may have to do with
character, situation, theme, or anything else that you think is worth
commenting on. Your task will be to
share this connection with the class.
The
following equipment is available:
- Overhead projector: for
those who want to use transparencies
- Computer: for those who want to play using the CD
drive, etc…
CRITERIA:
- Your project must draw
parallels between your poem/song and the novel using actual quotes from
the novel.
- Be prepared to present your
poem/song and to explain the connections you found; you will need to
identify quotes to do this.
- You must have your lyrics or
lines on an overhead so that the class can see them. (18 point font, bold
is nice, even if you have to use two transparencies.)
- If your song/poem has
profanity, we can hear it, but don’t type it in full: (Sh--!)
- Each person in the group
must have a job. The group is responsible for
creating/assigning responsibilities (Example: Presenter; Typist; Media Manager;
Handouts/Overheads)
- You must submit your song or
poem and your related quotes, and each person must
submit a 250 word reflection discussing your part in the project.
- Your presentation must be under 8 minutes.
This
project is worth 50 extra credit HW points.
Grading will be individual, not group.
Presentations
will be on the following days for the following classes:
Monday: Monday, May 11
Wednesday: Wednesday, May 20
Tuesday/Thursday: Thursday, May 21
