Simple Sentence:

Conjunctions: for and nor but or yet so
Ex:
The man and his daughter were upset, but the lady was frightened. The man was upset; the lady was frightened.
Complex Sentence:

*Use a comma after a
dep. clause that appears before the main clause.
Ex:
Because the girl was ill, she stayed home from school.
*A relative clause can
be the dependent clause in a complex sentence.
Ex:
The school that she attended had a
very strict absence policy.
Compound/complex
Sentence:
