SELF-EVALUATION

 

1.  Consider the writing you have done over the course of the term and reflect on the changes your writing has gone through.  Discuss the status of each major area of an academic essay.  You may want to look at an evaluation sheet as you are doing this:

a.    Intro

b.   Body

c.     Conclusion

d.   Style

e.    MLA

f.     Grammar

 

2.  Now, dig a bit deeper.  Refer to specific essays and the changes they went through; avoid generalities:

a. What were you not aware of on the first day of class that you are aware of now?

b. What things have you become more skillful at, whether you were aware of them or not?

       

3.  Cumulative assessment:

a. Identify your strongest area in writing.

b. Discuss what you are still working on and will need to improve over the course of the next writing class that you take.
