Read Carefully with Great Attention to Detail!

 

Introduction:

·      Synopsis of each story, preferably tailored to theme

·      Dates immediately follow story titles

·      Thesis identifies theme and elements but does not use the words “theme” or “elements.”

Ex:  Both Hughes and Bambara explore the necessary pain involved in individuation using setting, turning point, and the dynamic nature of the protagonist.

 

Body:

·      Topic Sentences connect element to theme

·      Each point contains the following:

1.  Explanation of the writer’s point

2.  Textual support for the point (includes crit.)

3.  Reflection commenting on/connecting support

**Each ¶ must be fully developed! 

 

Conclusion: 

·      Makes the relevance of the analysis clear

·      Leaves the reader thinking

 

Style:

·      Transitions make the paper flow

·      Different types of sentences are used

·      Paper is generally free from grammatical errors
